What makes a good leader?

A good leader leads by example and is there for their employees. They are able to get the best out of their employees and get everyone to work towards a common goal. A good manager has a holistic view, while also seeing the individual. They see the value of investing in their own employees and have a unifying effect. A good manager involves and engages employees and gives them the opportunity to influence their own everyday lives. He/she values giving and receiving feedback, is a good listener and invites dialog. He/she understands that well-being in the workplace is crucial to creating good results. A good manager is self-confident and able to make decisions to create progress. In addition, he/she is clear in his/her leadership and has a solid ability to build and manage trust. A good leader knows their own limitations and is not afraid to seek advice.

What is your strength as a leadership developer?

I have a good sense of humor and a positive attitude towards people and situations. I have a good ability to build strong relationships and create trust with the people around me. I'm also solution-oriented and keen to take a practical and concrete approach to management. Not least, I have the ability to get people to reflect and see themselves, both their potential and their strengths, and in this way facilitate further development.

What is the most enjoyable part of leadership training?

To have the opportunity to meet, discuss and share experiences with many talented people.

What motivates you most about leadership development?

Being able to contribute to the development of others and make a difference! Feeling the leaders' sense of mastery and the commitment that arises as development progresses, and of course sharing their joy when they reach their goals.

What benefits would you highlight about FRONT Leadership's leadership programs?

The ability to maintain a continuous and consistent focus over time helps to ensure that the management theme is always kept fresh. The teaching method can easily be combined with a hectic working day. Networking and experience sharing provide a fantastic arena for learning from each other and utilizing expertise that already exists in the organization. He is a versatile leadership trainer who has been an officer in the Norwegian Armed Forces for 20 years, including several leadership positions in the Military Police. He has also worked for many years as a diving instructor, and he is the owner and general manager of Tjernæs Mulitiservice, which offers contracting work, tree felling, fall protection and work at height. In addition, he has experience from PostNord, Harpo Electronics, Odfjell Drilling, DIPS and Borregaard. He has an education from the Norwegian Police University College and the Norwegian Military Academy.
